  1. Not a Silverfish by Bao Phi8.8/10.
  2. If Only We Had Taller Been by Ray Bradbury8.6/10. I interpret it as a metaphor for racism.
  3. Ouch by Rudy Francisco8.4/10. A beautiful symbolization of the fear of aging and losing talents over time. I experienced these fears myself.
  4. I'm Going Back To Minnesota Where Sadness Makes Sense by Danez Smith8.2/10.
  5. We Can Remember It for You Wholesale by Philip K. Dick8.0/10. Although heavily dated, Philip's fantastical writing of the future always charms me with his ideas and descriptions. It's a shame the Total Recall movie adaptations don't quite capture the original story.
  6. Even if I now saw you by Izumi Shikibu8.0/10.
  7. Not Even This by Ocean Vuong7.9/10. I love his style of writing. It has such a strong voice behind it.
  8. As Long As There Is Love, There Will Be Grief by Heidi Preibe7.7/10. I love the way Preibe presents both love and grief as natural twins, like two sides of the same coin.
  9. The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath7.5/10.
  10. Island by Langston Hughes
