2025
- Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)5.5/10. I stopped watching partially due to the erased character development and mostly due to the way Owen was framing that house. Where was the bracing? Why weren't the windows and doors framed? Why was he putting sheathing on the roof first? And what was that hammer??
- Jurassic World (2015)7.0/10. Pretty much an identical replica of the original Jurassic Park, except with marginally better CGI and a less coherent plot.
- Jurassic Park (1993)7.0/10. The science of the whole movie is very loosey-goosey but it still holds up fairly well and is pretty fun to watch.
- Jiu Jitsu (2020)5.2/10. One of the best Nicholas Cage movies yet. The basic premise of this movie is that the Flash comes to Earth every six years looking for someone to beat up in a fist fight.
Also, whoever thought to direct a first-person fight scene was ahead of their time. - Conclave (2024)7.6/10. It's a strangely captivating and enjoyable drama. The cinematography is also excellent. The only downside is that every time I hear "eminence" I think of Kai Winn from DS9.
- No Country For Old Men (2007)6.4/10. This movie tells the story of a Lord Farquaad Two Face hybrid going on an old-western shooting rampage. I was really invested into the movie until 75% into the movie when they just throw any setup out the window. That being said, I'm still hopeful they'll release One Country For Old Women.
- Spaceballs (1987)6.0/10. I rewatched this movie in honor of the Spaceballs 2 announcement and I didn't realize how old the original is. The humor is a bit dry nowadays but still pretty good and classic.
- Hot Fuzz (2007)7.3/10. A pretty fun police comedy with cheesy lines and a sweet story.
- Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)7.4/10. This one lives up to the other two movies. It's funny, has a ton of meta references, and I loved Chris Evan's character. If Marvel keeps making Deadpool movies I'll seriously keep watching them.
